about
Wild Hunters is about the so called Odin´s wild hunt from the northern mythology. This myth says that godfather Odin (also known as Wotan, Wodan, Wode, etc.) is moving across the sky with his wolves, ravens, horse and the fallen warriors from winter solstice until early january. Its the time of the year when our side of reality and the beyond start to merge with each other and its time to make contact with gods, ghosts, ancestors and spirits.
Here I tried to implement this topic into music.
I always like to try out new things musically and expand my musical skills. In Wild Hunters its the use of acoustic instruments and my voice which is new. I played acoustic percussion and noise instruments and an acoustic horn. With my voice I did some overtone singing similar to what is known from Mongolia. Unfortunately we have no evidence but its likely the old german tribes used similar techniques of singing in their rituals. The use of distorted e-guitar sounds is another new aspect to my music supporting the intended raw and wild character of this work.
I recommend listening to Wild Hunters with headphones or in a good stereo field position to hear the stereo and 3D effects implemented in the recording.

A beautiful album that lulls the listener into deep states of restful tranquillity. No favourite track -- just listen to the whole album for the full effect. Zamantaliege
